I don't like Medium because of paywall. However, I understand it because they are a business. They need revenue. Paywall is not fun, but it might be better than ads.
I don't like Bluesky because of Registration Wall. It requires an invitation for sign up. It feels like it is a closed community. I felt the same when Clubhouse became popular.
It reminds me Mixi, a Japanese social networking service. Mixi required an invitation too, in the early days. It was fine two decades ago, but nowadays it is nonsense.
I can't create a Bluesky account because I don't have the invitation. I wouldn't create my account even if it opens registration.
